  People who may know nothing else about Australia will probably know that it is the land where kangaroos are found. They are marsupial, which is an animal with a pouch. The kangaroo family is at times refer as "great foot" family, which is quite proper for its name.

Hopping Roo Kangaroo have very strong and powerful back feet, which they need for hoping. Their body is about 5 times as strong as our body. 

Fighting Roo'sWhen fighting, a kangaroo can both kick as well as punch. Sometimes it even stands on it's strong tail so it can both kick and punch at the same time. Cool Roo
The red kangaroo is the largest and the coolest...
The main kinds of kangaroos are Grey kangaroos, Red kangaroos, Wallaroos and Tree kangaroos. Wallaroos are a large kangaroo and is part Wallaby and part Kangaroo. The red kangaroos are the largest marsupial in the world and are closest related to the Eastern Grey. The old male red kangaroos are called "boomers" and can weigh up to 82 kilograms whereas the females weigh up to 26 kg they can travel for short distances at 64 kilometres an hour.

A newborn kangaroo is under two centimetres long and weighs less than a gram. As soon as it is born it struggles through its mother fur and into her pouch. There it stays for about 4 months, sucking milk from its mother. It begins to leave the pouch for short period to graze and leaves the pouch for good at about nine months old. Kangaroo’s life span is up to 20 years. A baby kangaroo is known as ‘Joey’

Kangaroos prefer to search for food at dusk and live in mobs. During the day they rest in the shade of rocks or bushes. Those that live in the desert areas simply lie in the sun. Kangaroos eat grass, bark and leaves.

Wallabies are part of the kangaroo family. They are generally smaller than the kangaroos and live in scrub or rocky areas whereas most kangaroos prefer more open country.
